Common questions
How do I switch between kg, lb, and stone?
Open Settings in the app and pick your units under Units. The calculator, your history, and the healthy weight range all follow that choice.
Why is my BMI category different from another app?
Under Settings → Category Standard you can choose the universal WHO/CDC cutoffs (healthy is 18.5 to under 25) or the WHO Asian action points (healthy is 18.5 to under 23). Different apps may use different cutoffs.
I lift weights. Why does it say I’m overweight?
BMI cannot tell muscle from fat. If you are lean and muscular, a higher number can simply mean more muscle, not excess body fat or added health risk. The app shows a note explaining this on results above the healthy band.
How do I connect Apple Health?
Go to Settings → Connections and tap Connect. The app can read your most recent height and weight to prefill the calculator, and can save a weight or BMI sample back to Health. You can revoke access any time in the iOS Health app.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap the add button, search for BMI Calculator, and choose a size. The widget shows your latest number, its category, and your recent trend.
How do I remove the ad?
The free version shows a single non-personalized banner. A one-time purchase removes it for good, with no subscription. You can buy it from Settings → Support the App.
I already paid. How do I restore it?
Tap Restore Purchases in Settings → Support the App, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so they carry across your devices.
How do I delete my measurements?
Swipe a row in History to delete it, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device. Everything is stored locally, so there is nothing on a server to delete.
Privacy
Your height, weight, and BMI stay on your device. Read the full privacy policy.
A note on BMI
