Privacy Policy

BMI Calculator (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is private by design. Your height, weight, and BMI are stored only on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics, and no tracking in this app.
The short version
- No account. You never sign up or give us your name, email, or any personal details.
- Your measurements and history stay on your device; we operate no servers that receive them.
- The free version shows a single non-personalized ad banner that never uses your health data. A one-time purchase removes it.
What data the app handles, and where it stays
Your measurements and history (height, weight, BMI, and dates) are saved locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage (SwiftData). This data never leaves your device except where you explicitly choose to send it (for example, saving to Apple Health). The app shares your latest reading with its Home Screen and Lock Screen widget through an on-device app group; that stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere. We operate no servers that receive your data, and the app does not transmit your health data to us or to any third party.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you choose to connect Apple Health, the app can read your most recent height and weight to prefill the calculator, and writea weight and/or BMI sample back to Health after a calculation, if you ask it to. Health data is used only to provide these features, stays on your device under Apple’s protection, and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. You can grant or revoke this access at any time in the iOS Health app or Settings. The app works fully without Apple Health.
Advertising
The free version shows a single banner ad provided by Google AdMob. These ads are configured as non-personalized (npa=1): they are not targeted using a personal profile of you, and they never use your health data, which stays firewalled on your device and is never shared with the ad service. The app does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and it does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking. To serve the ad, Google’s SDK collects limited technical information (such as device identifiers and diagnostic data), handled under Google’s privacy policy. You can remove ads entirely with the one-time “Remove Ads” purchase.
Purchases
BMI Calculator offers an optional one-time in-app purchase (“Remove Ads”) that removes the ad banner. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive or store your payment information. There is no subscription.
Children
The app is a general-purpose health screening tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Your control over your data
Because everything is stored locally, you control your data: delete individual entries in the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device. You can revoke Apple Health access at any time.
Medical disclaimer
BMI is a screening tool, not a diagnosis. The app is for general informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always talk with a qualified healthcare provider about your health.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.
